PDC RX IS PLEASED TO INTRODUCE DR. FIDELIS IFEANYI ARIGUZO

PDC Rx is honored to introduce the newest member of our family, Dr. Fidelis Ifeanyi Ariguzo, who was born and raised in Cameroon (Africa).  Dr. Ariguzo obtained his Doctor of Pharmacy Degree from Manchester University in Indiana.  Prior to pursuing his doctorate, he played college basketball for Huston-Tillotson University.  Dr. Ariguzo (hereinafter referred to as Fidelis) is married and has four siblings, three of whom live in America.

Fidelis, who enjoys participating in sports of all types and keeping fit, is an adventurous sort and, in his words, loves “meeting, mingling with, and living among people of different cultures because of what I learn from them and because it makes me a well-rounded human being.”  Without a doubt, people are drawn to him because he has such an empathetic spirit.  He said, “I was trained to put myself in other people’s shoes.”  Certainly, this training is manifested in his current position as one of the two pharmacists at PDC Rx who conduct reviews of their patients’ medications to ensure appropriate care is rendered.

While working on his doctorate at Manchester University, Fidelis had a particular love for his hospital rotations that involved hospice and palliative care.  He appreciated “the whole notion of palliative care.”  Interestingly, he found that many of his patients would open up to him when they had not done so for other caregivers.  He attributes this to a special trait of his – listening to others.  He has a genuine interest in helping patients and their families face this final phase.  He said, “It is an entirely different force when you’re going from life to death.”

In his quest to “reach people and make meaningful change,” he acknowledges the importance of addressing the palliative needs of the patient as well as the emotional needs of the family.  It is his goal to help ensure “a smooth transition into the afterlife.”  Part of that transition is often preceded by the loved ones’ painful facing of reality.  “Love shades every reality, which is not a bad thing,” stated Fidelis.

He enjoys his position at PDC Rx because he relishes the exposure and challenges.  This experience “will bring out the best of what I have and enhance my personal growth as I help the company (PDC Rx) achieve its goals.” Jaymie Wilson, Vice President of Operations, said, “We are incredibly lucky to have such a smart and driven person like Fidelis on our team.  He is extremely knowledgeable and passionate about helping others.”

Dr. Fidelis Ariguzo believes in the theory that we should all do our part, and he definitely does his part – and then some – with integrity, compassion, and tenacity.
