Our Pharmacy Network

Much of our success as a Hospice PBM comes from our pharmacy philosophy. Our pharmacy philosophy is grounded in knowing that our ability to serve our hospice customers well is dependent on the local pharmacies they use. To PDC Rx, Hospice Pharmacy Network are just as important as our hospice customers.

Other Hospice PBMs have only the goal of pleasing the Hospice and pay little to no attention to building a relationship with the local pharmacy. This results in unfair reimbursement to the pharmacy which eventually leads the pharmacy to swear off serving hospice patients altogether because they can no longer afford to do it. If you’ve ever wondered why there are fewer and fewer local pharmacies willing to serve hospice, this is the reason. This is also the reason Hospice PBMs have such a bad reputation among pharmacies… can you blame them?

PDC Rx is very different from other Hospice PBMs. Especially when it comes to our Local Pharmacy Network. We don’t just believe in getting the “lowest” possible drug price for every hospice that we serve. We instead, believe in a “fair” price. We apply this to both the Hospice AND the Pharmacy. By agreeing to fair prices between all parties involved, we are able to create harmony through understanding and trust between the Local Pharmacies, the Hospice, and PDC Rx.

To put it plainly, we view our role as the Hospice PBM as completely different than other Hospice PBMs because we understand our dependence on the local pharmacy. After all, healthcare is best delivered locally.
