Over the past 10 years, PDC Rx has partnered with SONO to create a hospice conference that you won’t find anywhere else. A sales-free, collaborative, and intimate style conference where hospice leaders can truly learn from one another and lift up the industry as a whole.

The SONO™ Symposium gathers a select number of hospice providers from all over the United States to take part in a think-tank style 2-day event.

This is an invitation-only event. The intention behind limiting this event to invitation-only is to create an environment that allows everyone to truly get to know one another and develop lasting relationships in the industry.

WHO: The Symposium was originally founded on the desire for a conference that was able to make hospice leaders feel comfortable in sharing both their problems and their solutions. Hospice leaders have a passion and would like to be surrounded by other passionate people in a setting where they can share all of their problems, solutions, and ideas.

WHAT: The SONO Symposium deploys innovative and creative learning formats that foster friendships and great conversations.

The SONO Symposium Comes To Tempe, AZ

WHY: The Symposium energizes and empowers hospice leaders so they can go back to their teams and lead with newfound confidence, connections, and perspectives.

The event will be held at Hyatt Place Tempe / Phoenix / University 601 E. 6th Street Tempe, Arizona, from April 25-27, 2023.

ELNEC Train-The-Trainer Training

ELNEC is a comprehensive training program developed by the City of Hope’s Division of Nursing Research and Education and Dr. Betty Ferrell.  The training helps nurses and providers improve the quality of end-of-life care across the spectrum that includes not only physical care but also psychosocial and spiritual care.

There are several training tracks (Critical Care, Pediatrics, APRN, etc.)  however, PDC Rx will provide CORE, which is the basic core training for nurses.  The training included eight domains:

  1. Palliative Care Nursing

  2. Communication

  3. Pain Management

  4. Symptom Management

  5. Ethics and Legal Issues

  6. Cultural Considerations

  7. Loss, Grief, and Bereavement

  8. Final Hours

The training will be provided by Jaymie Wilson MSN, APRN-CNP, Chief Operating Officer at PDC Rx, and Mindi Henry MSN, APRN-CNP, ACHPN, PDC Rx’s Director of Clinical Services. Both are certified hospice and palliative care nurse practitioners as well as experienced ELNEC trainers. This is Mindi’s 14th year of teaching ELNEC to hospice and palliative care teams.
