The End-of-Life Nursing Education Consortium (ELNEC) project is a national and international education initiative to improve palliative care. Since 2000, ELNEC is a collaboration between City of Hope, Duarte, CA and the American Association of Colleges of Nursing (AACN), Washington, DC. Course

What goals will be achieved by the end of the course?

PDC Rx will be providing ELNEC CORE Train-The-Trainer.
After completion, attendees will be able to provide ELNEC training to their communities. 14 contact hours.

The training includes eight domains:

  1. Palliative Care Nursing

  2. Communication

  3. Pain Management

  4. Symptom Management

  5. Ethics and Legal Issues

  6. Cultural Considerations

  7. Loss, Grief, and Bereavement

  8. Final Hours

Who would complete the training and what are their credentials?

Jaymie Wilson and Mindi Henry are both certified hospice and palliative care nurse practitioners, as well as experienced ELNEC trainers. This is Mindi’s 16th year teaching the ELNEC Course to hospice and palliative care teams.
